2025 BMXNZ C​​​​​​​HAMPIONSHIP NATIONALS (CN)

BMX New Zealand, the Mainland South BMX Region and the Southland BMX Club are proud to host and present the 2025 BMX New Zealand Championship Nationals (CN) on Sunday 23rd March in conjunction with the National Championships event.

The event is a designated Category 5 event and will follow the regulations of this category.

SUNDAY 23rd March 2025 UCI CN CLASS - EVENT GUIDELINES

Event Location: Southland BMX Club, Elizabeth Park, Lime Street, Invercargill

Entries Close: 10th February 2025 @ Midnight, online entries ONLY, NO LATE entries will be accepted.

Entry Fees: All entries $100.00

ENTRY INFORMATION:

No entry will be taken on day of event.

Entry is complete only when payment is confirmed.

BMXNZ reserves the right to refuse entry to any person.

No refunds will be given after Friday 21st March 2025 for any reason.  Refund prior to this will only be given on receipt of medical certificate, less admin fee of $20. BMXNZ Major Event Entry Withdrawal Request

CLASSES OFFERED:

Championship Men: Elite, U23 & Junior

Championship Women: Elite, U23 & Junior

NUMBER PLATES: 

Event Number plates will only be issued to riders at transponder check-in upon confirmation that their transponder is attached to their bike correctly and is functional.  The event number plate must remain affixed to the bike for the entire event, including all official practice sessions.

Championship Riders may run their UCI number under the 2022 UCI numbering system.

RIDER REGISTRATION/TRANSPONDER CHECK/PLATE COLLECTION:

This is a Transponder required event. Transponders must be activated & registered with MYLAPS prior to this event. Transponders MUST be attached to the outside of the fork & must be on for all official BMXNZ event sessions including practice. 

Plate collection and transponder check will be conveniently located by the PR tent throughout the duration of the championships.

ALL transponders must be checked and entry detail must be confirmed on the BMXNZ test loop mat at the admin building, prior to starting practice, or racing.

Registration for your transponder check and plates, opens from 1.30pm – 5.40pm Friday and then again 7.00am-9.40am Saturday. Registration is required PRIOR to the rider's practice sessions.

Transponders - with failures during racing, we go to camera as backup and if not definitive, a DNF is scored.

PRACTICE PRIOR TO EVENT:

The track may be available prior to official times listed below. The host club will issue a timetable when available on facebook page.

FRIDAY PRACTICE:

5.05pm - 5.45pm

SATURDAY PRACTICE:

15 mins after racing concludes (40min)

SUNDAY PRACTICE:

9.25am - 9.55am (30min) End of Moto 6 practice Female then Male (10mins each)

RIDING START TIME: TBA (after semi finals of the National Championship event)

PRIZEGIVING:

This will be held at TBA on Sunday 23rd March, approximately 30 minutes after the finish of racing.

SEEDING:

Championship riders will be seeded into motos based on their overall UCI ranking.

MINIMUM CLASS SIZE:

5 riders constitute a class

RACING FORMAT & MOTO DRAW:

UCI Transfer System

In case of disruption or adverse weather,  moto format may be changed, at the discretion of the Chief Commissaire.

3 motos Sunday then finals (depending on class sizes)

8 or less riders:                 3 motos Sunday, points aggregated

9 or more riders:               3 motos Sunday then;

       9-16 riders:                  to deadman final

     17-32 riders:                  to deadman semis and deadman final

     33-64 riders:                  to quarters,  semis and final (all deadman)

     65-80 riders:                  to eighths, quarters, semis and final (all deadman)

SCRUTINEERING:

Officials can & will randomly check riders before & during the event, including all official practice & warm up sessions when all rule requirements apply & event number plates must be worn.

AWARDS & TROPHY ALLOCATION:

Trophies & Presentation Plates to 3rd Place.
